NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

Please see the Notice of Nomination for more information.

Voting at a municipal election means that you are exercising your democratic right, but most importantly, you are ensuring your support for those candidates who share your vision and goals for your neighbourhood and for the Municipality of French River.

The Municipality of French River provides day-to-day services you count on - such as fire protection services, parks, recreation, cemeteries, roads, libraries, economic development and waste management. The Municipal Council decides how your property taxes are spent and establish the level of municipal services available in the municipality. No other level of government plays more a direct role in citizens' lives than municipalities. It is important to vote.

For the 2010 Municipal Elections, the Municipality of French River is again using the Vote by Mail method for voting. It proved to be very successful during the 2006 Municipal Elections with a voting turnout of 53%! The average voting turnout in the Province of Ontario was 42.2%. Check out Vote by Mail, for more information on this method of voting.

The List of Unofficial Candidates will be kept updated throughout the Nomination Period.

For more information, contact us at the Municipal Office, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
